Gondán Shipyards, a family-owned company based in Figueras (Asturias), has been awarded the Internationalization Award —“Large company with significant international reach” category— by the Spanish Exporters and Investors Club.
Founded in 1925, Gondán has established itself as a leader in Spanish shipbuilding, with more than 500 vessels delivered and a workforce of over 700 professionals. In 2024, it achieved a turnover of 170 million euros, ranking among the leading industrial companies in Asturias.
The jury highlighted that Gondán represents “a pioneering family-owned company in the marine energy transition, with a bold expansion policy that has enabled its sustained growth.” Exports are 90% of the company’s turnover, Gond´sn´s vessels are in more than 30 countries, and the company has active contracts in Norway, the United Kingdom, Portugal, and Indonesia.
The company has committed to technological innovation and sustainability, building ships powered by clean energy and leading the modernization of the Spanish shipbuilding sector.
The awards ceremony was held on November 5 in Madrid, with the Secretary of State for Commerce, Amparo López Senovilla, as president. The Exporters and Investors Club has once again highlighted the success of Spanish companies in global markets. The 23rd edition of its Internationalization Awards served to highlight the resilience and strategic vision of the Spanish business community in an increasingly challenging global environment.
